Located on Resurrection Bay, a year-round ice-free harbor, Seward is on the east coast of the Kenai Peninsula.  Seward, named for the Secretary of State given credit for purchasing Alaska from Russia in 1867.  Kenai Fjords National Park Center, Chugach National Forest, Alaska Vocational Technical Center, Alaska SeaLife Center are all found in Seward. Seward, a picturesque community has fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, flight seeing, and some of the most magnificent coastlines in Alaska.
